ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Trophy Tour Celebration
The New Zealand women’s team, who clinched the title in October, will return home to Christchurch on Friday afternoon after completing an ODI series in India. A special welcome home event is planned for the team in Christchurch.
The trophy tour will commence on Saturday, November 2nd, with members of the women’s team and support staff participating in fan events across different cities. New Zealand Cricket sees this tour as a pivotal moment for women’s cricket in the country, drawing parallels to the excitement generated by the Men’s World Test Championship win in 2021.
Stacey Geraghty, GM Marketing Communications for New Zealand Cricket, emphasized the significance of the World Cup victory and the importance of celebrating it with the fans. The tour aims to capitalize on the immense public excitement following the win and provide fans with an opportunity to share in the team’s success.
In addition to the tour, the trophy will be displayed at all White Ferns matches throughout the summer, culminating in the highly anticipated Rose Bowl series against Australia in December.
