The Coming ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023

I am delighted that this decision is historically amazing because now men and women cricketers will get the same prize money, said ICC chairman Greg Barclay.

We were increasing prize money for women each year after 2017.

Enhancement In Investment Funds

As part of its commitment to fostering worldwide expansion in accordance with the ICC Global Growth Strategy, each member of the ICC will now experience substantial funding enhancements. This achievement is made possible by the establishment of a dedicated strategic investment fund.

Barclay expressed enthusiasm regarding the situation, stating, “The remarkable success of our media rights and commercial program for the upcoming four-year cycle empowers us to allocate more financial resources than ever before towards the advancement of our beloved sport.”

New Framework

Under the new framework, every Member of the ICC will receive a foundational allocation, supplemented by additional revenue commensurate with their contributions to the global cricket landscape, both on and off the field.

This historic investment represents an unprecedented opportunity for our Members to propel growth, engage a larger audience of players and fans, and foster heightened competitiveness.

Furthermore, the ICC has extended its support to member nations in their pursuit of establishing sustainable revenue streams and cultivating the development of the sport.

To ensure the active participation of local talent and Associate Members, upcoming events will now necessitate a minimum representation of seven players from the host nation.

Additionally, the organizing Member will be responsible for remitting a solidarity fee to the Home Board of a player, further reinforcing the collaborative spirit within the cricket community.
