Afghanistan’s star spinner, Rashid Khan, has made a resounding comeback after injury. His dominant performance against Ireland, snaring eight wickets, earned him a significant boost in the ICC Men’s T20I Bowler Rankings. This timely surge places him in a strong position leading up to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

Khan surged four spots, now sitting comfortably in the top ten (equal ninth) in the ICC rankings. This return to form comes after a back injury sustained during the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup. His Player of the Series performance against Ireland saw him average a remarkable 5.62 across three matches.

The legendary 25-year-old spinner, a consistent force at the top of the T20I bowler rankings since 2018, is determined to reclaim his top spot before the T20 World Cup kicks off in the USA and Caribbean this June.

Khan’s teammate, Naveen-ul-Haq, also saw improvements in his ranking after taking three wickets against Ireland. Irish bowlers Josh Little, Mark Adair, and Barry McCarthy all made notable gains as well. England’s Adil Rashid still reigns supreme atop the T20I bowler rankings.

Men’s T20I Batter Rankings

India’s batting sensation, Suryakumar Yadav, maintains his commanding lead in the T20I batter rankings. Afghanistan’s seasoned all-rounder, Mohammad Nabi, edged back into the top 50. Bangladesh’s veteran, Shakib Al Hasan, holds firm as the top T20I all-rounder, with Ireland’s Gareth Delany seeing a significant boost after a strong showing against Afghanistan.

The latest ODI rankings also reflect some shifts after Sri Lanka’s series against Bangladesh. Pathum Nissanka made an impressive leap into the top ten (eighth place) while his teammate Charith Asalanka moved up as well. Bangladesh’s Mushfiqur Rahim, Najmul Hossain Shanto, and Towhid Hridoy also climbed the ODI batter rankings, with Shoriful Islam making a big jump in the ODI bowler rankings.
